Like any other training centres of Indian Railways, STC Bangalore also equipped with all facilities required for smooth functioning of training activities. The ambience here makes training not only effective, but also memorable.


STC has seven Learning Units (Class Rooms) all equipped with the latest training aids like LCD Multimedia projectors, Personal Computers, Magnetic White Boards etc. Training aids like Interactive boards, Visualiser are worth mentioning here. Also, seven additional class rooms for Autocad lab and library are coming up in the new Annexe building.


Computer Lab

The computer lab has a Network server with 20 thin clients. This lab has a Learning management system with various topics on Railways and Engineering to give the learners self paced learning.

In this Lab training on Computer Awareness, MS Access and Auto Cad is imparted.


Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Lab

This lab has training equipments such as Basic air conditioning trainer, Experimental refrigeration cycle trainer, Railway coach air conditioning trainer, Gas charging unit, Railway coach air conditioning fault simulator and cut section models.

In this Lab training on Refrigeration and Air conditioning for the supervisors of Mechanical and Electrical Department is imparted.



Mechatronics Lab

This lab has training equipments such as Basic pneumatic trainer, Electro pneumatic trainer, Electro pneumatic trainer with PLC, Basic hydraulic trainer, Basic electro hydraulic trainer, Electronics trainer and Electro hydraulic trainer with PLC.

In this Lab training on Mechatronics for the supervisors of Mechanical Department is imparted.



Carriage & Wagon Lab

This lab has training equipments such as Air brake trainer, Railway braking system fault trainer and Working models on air brake system.

In this Lab Training for the C & W supervisors and Loco running staff during induction, refresher and promotion courses is imparted.



Diesel Lab

This lab has training equipments such as Fuel Oil trainer, Lubricating Oil trainer, Diesel Engine trainer, Cooling Water System Trainer, Braking System Trainer and Loco Electrical & Control Trainer.

In this Lab training, both during induction and refresher courses on Diesel for the staff of Mechanical Department is imparted.




The library has a huge collection of about 3975 titles/ 5830 books on Engineering, Computers, Management, Fictions, Philosophy, Spirituality and Railways for the enhancement of trainees knowledge, during their stay at STC. A Hindi section with 750 books on various subjects, Weeklies & Magazines in English and Hindi are also available.




Present Hostel capacity is 146 beds. Chamundi Hostel has 78 beds and the new CauveryHostel has 68 beds.Another hostel with 68 beds is under construction, which on completion will bring the total capacity to 214 beds.




Mess facility is not available as of now. However, it is going to come up on completion of the sanctioned work by the Division. Nevertheless, a Mess with a limited capacity is being managed and run by the apprentices on cost sharing basis in old Principal’s Bunglow under the guidance of the faculty.



Sports & Recreation

This training centre offers ample scope for mental and physical wellbeing of the trainees by providing Indoor games like Shuttle badminton, Table Tennis, Carroms and Chess, Outdoor games like Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, ReadingRoom with LCD TV, News papers and magazines.
