EXTENDED LONG TERM TARIFF CONTRACT
South Western Railway has renewed the long term Contract with its major customer M/s. JSW Steel Limited. The contract was entered into in July last year. The contract mutually beneficial to both the parties as it is assuring freight traffic to Railways & gives discounted fares to customers for assuring certain tonnage of traffic.
Shri K. Siva Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, South Western Railway and Shri Sushil Nowal, Senior Vice President (Planning & Logistics), JSW Steel Limited, Ballari have jointly signed (Rider Agreement) to Long Term Tariff Contract (LTTC) on 20th June, 2018 at Rail Soudha for a period of five (05) years from 01.09.2017 to 31.08.2022 by which JSW have assured to move 17.40 Million Tonnes from JSW Plants located at Tornagallu, to Dolvi (Mumbai) and Salem combined with freight earnings of Rs. 1710.33 Crore annually to South Western Railway. Besides this, to encourage the company to move more volumes of traffic by rail, a certain percentage of concession as freight rebate is extended to the firm for not only retaining this level of traffic but also on the incremental loading.
The contract was signed in the presence of Principal Financial Advisor & Principal Chief Operations Manager, South Western Railway.
