The “International Day of Yoga” for the year 2018 was celebrated all over South Western Railway in a befitting manner o­n 21stJune, 2018. South Western Railway Headquarters organized a Special Morning Yoga Session, which was led by Shri A.K.Gupta, General Manager, South Western Railway and Smt.Deepali Gupta, President, SWRWWO. The Common Yoga Protocol of AYUSH Ministry was conducted by two Ayurveda experts Dr.Anita.G.Kadagad (Kembhavi) and Dr.Aakash.S.Kembhavi. The talk o­n Astanga Yoga, various nuances of beneficial combination of Asanas, disciplined life and meditation drew attention of all.  The session was attended by about 100 Officials and families. While addressing the The session lasted from 7 a.m to 8.30 a.m. While addressing the session ,the Yoga experts have mentined various benefits of Yoga for physical and mental well being and said that ‘Yougaha Karmasu Kousalam ‘ meaning yoga will lead to increase of efficiency in work.The participants have expreseed that  insight to Yoga has encouraged them to pursue it daily.Later various asanas in sitting,standing and supine positions such as tadasana,vajrasana,padahastasana,bhujangasana  etc. were demonstrated by experts and performed by participants Shri B.B.Singh, Additional General Manager, all Principal Heads of the Departments, Officers and Staff participated with full enthusiasm throughout the session. The celebrations were coordinated by Shri S.K.Albela, Head of HR Department of South Western Railway.

Hubballi Division, under the leadership of Shri Rajesh Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, organized the International Day of Yoga -2018 in the premises of Railway Officers’ Club between 8.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Under the leadership of Shri Ajay Kumar, Chief Workshop Manager, Hubballi Workshop, a special program o­n Yoga was held from 18.06.2018 to 20.06.2018 between 05.00 PM to 06.00 PM, including the International Day of Yoga-2018 o­n 21.06.2018 between 03.00 PM to 04.00 PM.

Similar programmes were organized at Bengaluru under the leadership of Shri R.S. Saxena, Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Division which was attended by the Officers and Staff of Bengaluru Division at Anugraha Community Hall, MG Railway Colony, Bengaluru – 23.  Ms. Sudhanva from Vivekananda Yoga Kendra gave lecture/demonstration o­n Yoga. Construction Organization at Bengaluru Cantonment organized the celebration of the day under the leadership of Shri Alok Tiwari, Chief Engineer/North. Shri Gnanadurai, Deputy Chief Material Manager gave training o­n Yoga.

At Mysuru, Smt. Aparna Garg, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru Division, led the celebrations of the day. Mr. Venkatesiah, Chief Director Patanjali Yoga, Mysuru gave lecture/demonstration o­n Yoga to the Officers and Staff.

Shri Neeraj Jain, Chief Workshop Manager, Mysuru Workshop led the celebrations of the day held at Railway Samudai Bhavan, Mysuru Workshop.    Ms. Aurlnidhi Shivakameshwari, Sr.Professor, Simplified Kundalini Yoga, Vedadri Maharshi Institute of Yoga, Mysuru gave lecture and practical demonstration o­n Yoga.
