The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes the Vigilance Awareness week every year to promote integrity and probity in public life, generate public awareness and to publicise the adverse impact of corruption.  This year the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 29th October to 3rdNovember, 2018 and the theme chosen by CVO for this year is “Eradicate Corruption - Build a New India”.

          As part of that, South Western Railways observes “Vigilance Awareness Week 2018” from 29th October to 3rd November.  The event marks launching of probity and integrity in governance.  It aims to educate all citizens to be honest and have high values.

          Shri Rajeev Kumar, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, South Western Railway was the Chief Guest o­n this occasion.   He administered a pledge o­n vigilance to all Officers and Staff of Headquarters at Rail Soudha yesterday i.e. 29.10.2018.  Later he also unveiled the posters of vigilance awareness and said during the period, through its various outreach activities, it seeks to motivate stakeholders to collectively participate in the fight against corruption and also aims at raising public awareness regarding the detrimental consequences of corruption.

         Shri V. Rajeevan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer described the importance of vigilance in day to day work.  He encouraged officers, Supervisors and staff to take clean, honest, effective and transparent decisions.  He talked about Satyanishta, values and improving Railways image and work culture.  This event was also held in 3 Divisions and at other units of SWR.
