DEDICATION OF ROAD OVER BRIDGE IN LIEU OF LEVEL CROSSING GATE NO. 108 AT INDI ROAD RAILWAY STATION

            Shri Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation dedicated Road Over Bridge In Lieu of Level Crossing Gate No. 108 at Indi Road Railway Station today o­n 17.01.2019.

In this occasion Shri Arun Shahapur, Hon’ble MLC; Shri Rukmuddin, Ex-Taluk Panchayat  president; Shri G J Prasad, Principal Chief Operations Manager; Shri Prem Narayan, Chief Engineer/ Construction; Shri G Murlikrishnan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Hubballi Division; Shri Anil Pavitran, Chief commercial Manager/FM; Shri N. Ravindranath Reddy, Chief Bridge Engineer, other officers,  staffs  and  mass public were present.

Shri Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation has said in his speech that after construction of this ROB, smooth and free movement of traffic o­n Indi and Solapur Highway is ensured.

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh General Manager South Western Railway said that this Railway is giving a tremendous thrust to Infrastructure development. Provision of Road Over Bridges is being taken up in big way to ensure   safety and convenience at level crossing gates.  The dedication of this ROB in lieu of LC gate No.108 marks our missions towards elimination of LC gates.

LC Gate No.108 (Traffic) at Indi Station Yard is an important and busy Level crossing Gate. Being situated in the Indi Road Station yard limits it was a major hurdle for free movement of road traffic. Whenever trains being dealt at yard/passing through Indi Road station, road traffic has to be held up for long duration of time. This LC is a long cherished dream of the people of this region. This bridge is provided with latest design of Bow String Arch Girder with span of 60 meter. The LC has been completed in span of 34 months. This will enhance mobility for both Rail and Road traffic. This is a step towards Railways mission of eliminating LC gates and ensuring safety at level crossings. Salient features of  ROB as under:

1.Cost of the ROB Rs.18 Crore.

2.Span of ROB 12.5 M x 6.0 M o­n either side with 1.5 meter footpath o­n 2 sides.

3.Approach road Gradient 1 in 30 o­n either side.

4.Width of the road Two lane traffic of 7.5 meter.

5.Length of Railway Span 60 meter.

6.Length of approaches Indi Side 260 meter.

7.Total length of Road Over Bridge 600 meter Solapur Side 260 meter.

8.Features Foot path of 1.5 M for pedestrians o­n Railway span o­n two sides.
