ACTION TAKEN BY RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE AGAINST TICKET BROKERS ALL OVER INDIA

Due to summer vacations, Marriages & Holidays in schools there are huge crowd in the trains.  Information received that by taking advantage of circumstances some miscreants misusing the e-ticketing and ticket counter facility, by fraudulent means black marketing the tickets. In this process they deprived general public from availability of tickets apart from this common people getting into trouble by misuse of passenger facility provided in IRCTC website.

In pursuance to instructions of DG/RPF, special drives called “OPERATION THUNDER” have been launched over different cities over South Western Railways against Railway ticket touts o­n 13.06.2019. The drives were launched simultaneously throughout the Indian Railways.

During such raids 6 touts have been arrested over South Western Railways with recovery of total journey tickets worth Rs. 4,39,477/. (Rs. Four Lakhs Thirty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Seven o­nly).

Details of 6 touts against whom cases are proved

1.Ramakrishna tours and travels, Bengaluru

2.Ambika Electrical and hardware shop, Periyapatna, Mysuru

3.Manu tours and travels, Bengaluru

4.Meenaxi -Iway internet, Belagavi

These are e- tickets other two o­ne each from Yesvantpur & Haveri (counter ticket by Private person)

These touts are using their personal IDs to book E-tickets and sell at higher price to outsiders. In case of First 4 firms, computer accessories, mobiles, E- tickets and cash are also seized. Cases have been booked against above touts under section 143 of Railway Act.
