South Western Railway has developed a unique Mobile App cum web portal “Karmachaaribandhu” for management of employee grievances. This App is helpful for employees to submit their grievance and track its status.

This Mobile App cum web portal is simple, user friendly and efficient tool for employee grievances which are addressed to General Manager. Welfare of the employees of the South Western Railway has been the utmost priority for Shri. Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway from the time he has taken over the Zone. This App was launched in August and it is user friendly that can be downloaded from Google Play store.  Employees working in field units are able to lodge their grievances directly to General Manager without having to come physically to the Zonal Headquartes.

            Prior to Covid-19 pandemic, more than 100 employees used to visit Rail Soudha, Zonal office of SWR to submit their grievances personally to General Manager.  Shri Santosh Hegde, Secy to GM, has taken initiative to launch this App which has been popular among the employees for raising their problems to GM without having to leave their work/duty.  Due to COVID-19 pandemic travelling from work place and meeting General Manager personally has became difficult for employees, with the launch of “Karmachaaribandhu” Mobile App, staff grievance redressal has been possible o­nline.

Modus operandi for downloading App:         

         Employees can download the Mobile App through Google Playstore.

         After registration they can login to the App and submit their grievance.

         Grievance application can be uploaded in PDF or JPEG format.

         o­nce they successfully submited, General Manager’s office downloads the application from and hard copy is put up to General Manager for further decision.

         Decision taken copy is re-uploaded back to Mobile App and marked to the department for implementation.

Employees can see the remarks of General Manager in the copy re-uploaded and they can track their grievances. Whenever grievance is marked to various levels it gets reflected in the “Track My Request” in the Mobile App of employee. This App is a transparent and efficient tool for tracking the grievances.

     “Karmachaaribandhu” web portal is developed as a backend for management of grievances of various levels for officer’s of South Western Railway. Grievance marked by General Manager can be downloaded by officers at various levels marked & decision can be implemented. This portal helps in easy tracking, access and flow of information.

        A private agency at Bengaluru has developed this App cum web portal for General Manager Office South Western Railway.
