DRAWING & ESSAY WRITING COMPETITIONS FOR CHILDREN BY SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY
On the eve of the National Unity Day/ Rashtriya Ekta Day on 31st October 2020, South Western Railway will be organizing a drawing competition for children up to 10 years of age and Essay Writing Competition for children between 11 to 16 years of age as under:
Venue : Railway Museum, Hubballi, Gadag Road,
Date : 30th Oct 2020
Time : From 10 am to 11 am - Drawing Competition
: From 11.30 am to 12.30 - Essay Writing Competition
Entry Fee : Free for participants
Category : Age group :- 1) up to 10 years - Drawing Competition
2) 11 to 13 Years - Essay writing Competition
3) 13 to 16 years - Essay writing Competition
National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated on October 31 every year to commemorate the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the “Iron Man of India. The day provides “an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity, and security of our country”
The theme for the drawing and Essay writing completion will be given to the participants at the venue. Drawing sheets/writing paper will be supplied by the Organizers. Children participating in the drawing competition are requested to bring their own Hard Board, water colour, crayon, pencil, colours, etc,.
Social distancing norms will be imposed and thermal screening will be done by museum authorities at entry point. Parents must ensure mask protocol for participating wards. Entry is free for the participant; accompanying guardian should purchase entry tickets to prevent overcrowding.
A panel from South Western Railway will evaluate the drawing and essay writing competitions. The results will be declared and prizes will be distributed National Unity Day Rashtriya Ekta Divas on 31st Oct 2020. The best three will receive prizes and certificates. The drawing/essay will become the property of the Museum and displayed for public.
