SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY, CELEBRATES CONSTITUTION DAY TO COMMEMORATE THE ADOPTION OF CONSTITUTION on 26.11.2020
Cabinet Secretary has directed all Central Govt. Ministries to observe Constitution Day on 26.11.2020. on this occasion Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, SWR read out the Preamble of the Constitution to Officers and Staff of South Western Railway, Headquarters at Rail Soudha. The focus was to highlight and reiterate the values and principles enshrined in the constitution.
Shri P. K. Mishra, Addl. General Manager, Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Shri Vipul Kumar, Principal Chief Engineer, Shri P Ravi Kumar, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel officer, Kum. Roopa Srinivasan, Principal Finance Adviser, Shri Anil Pavithran, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Shri G V N Murthy, Principal Chief Materials Manager, Shri R S Chauhan, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Shri M A V Ramanujam, Principal Chief Safety Officer and Senior Officers were present on the occasion. A copy of the Preamble of the Constitution was distributed to all the officers and Staff on the occasion. The officers and staff participated in the programme following Covid protocol of maintaining social distancing, wearing face masks etc.
As directed by Cabinet Secretary, the pledge was administered by GM/SWR at 11.00 am to coincide and join Hon’ble Prime Minster in reading of the Preamble of the Constitution of India during the Conference of the All India presiding Officers at Kevadia, Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway said that we all shall uphold the values enshrined in preamble of Constitution and shall rededicate ourselves to work towards development of our country, as envisaged by founding fathers of our constitution.
South Western Railway is also planning publicity drive spreading the duties of a Citizen through digital displays at important locations over the Zone.
Awareness campaigns are also being planned focused on fundamental Duties of Citizen as per the Indian Constitution Article 51 (a). Conferences, Seminars and Quiz competitions will also be planned at Headquarters and at Divisional level.
On the occasion of observing of the adoption of Constitution, Chief Administrative officer, Construction and Divisional Railway Managers of Hubballi, Bengaluru & Mysuru read out Preamble to Officers and Staff at Construction organization and Divisions respectively. Preamble of the Constitution was also read out at other offices of Hubballi & Mysuru Workshops, Loco Sheds and Material Management Units and Divisional P Way Training centers Bengaluru Cantonment.
