MAHAPARINIRVAN DIWAS OBSERVED on SWR
Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was observed on 07.12.2019 at Rail Soudha, South Western Railway, Hubballi. Death anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is being observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas on 6.12.2020 to highlight Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution in the nation building.
Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR was the Chief guest of the function. He garlanded the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and offered floral tributes. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Singh said that, Dr. B R Ambedkar along with Mahatma Gandhi Ji was a legendary freedom fighter and played a pivotal role in the up- liftment of the backward classes of the society. Shri Singh urged the Officers and Staff to work to realize ideals of Shri Ambedkar towards development of Nation.
Floral tributes were paid to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar by the Principal Head of the Departments, Staff and the representatives of the trade unions and association of South Western Railway at the function organised at Rail Soudha, SWR/HQ.
Shri R. P Meena, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Planning & Freight spoke on lessons that can be learnt from Dr. Ambedkar's life. Shri K S Dyamannavar, Zonal President of All India SC/ST Railway Employees Association and Shri V Charkani, Treasurer, SWRMU spoke on the occasion.
Mahaparinirvan Diwas was also observed at the Divisional Offices of Hubballi, Bengaluru Mysuru and Workshops of South Western Railway to pay floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
