SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FUNCTION FOR CHILDREN OF SWRWWO SCHOOL
The South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO) under the leadership of Smt Sujata Singh, President is actively participating in the welfare activities of the Railway fraternity by running schools and encouraging the wards of Railway men by scholarships and awards to the students who have excelled in their academics.
The Scholarship awards function of the SWRWWO's English Medium High School, Gadag Road was held on 30.01.2021 at Hubballi. Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway was the Chief Guest of the function. During the function, Merit Scholarship Certificates along with Cash Prizes amounting to Rs 2.22 lakhs were distributed to the 59 children of Railway Employees of both Group 'C' and erstwhile Group 'D' staff who have secured 85% & above marks in SSLC. Scholarships and cash awards were also awarded to those student who scored 80% & above in PUC – II, Degree and Technical Degree courses to encourage and motivate them for their excellent academic performance.
Shri Singh appreciated the services of the organization and the teachers and congratulated all the awardees and said that the number of awardees should increase year after year. He also asked the students to inculcate the qualities of Swami Vivekananda who was hardworking and fearless. He congratulated the parents and asked them to motivate their children. He asked the parents to not only encourage them in academics but also in all-round development in cultural and sports activities.
Smt. Sujata Singh, President / SWRWWO, Smt P. Aruna Kumari, Treasurer and Senior executive members of SWRWWO Officers of SWR graced the occasion along with the parents of the children of the school. Shri Arvind Malkhede, DRM/UBL, Shri P Ravi Kumar, PCME/SWR, Shri Vipul Kumar, PCE/SWR and senior officers were present.
On this occasion the top three toppers of SWRWWO's English medium School in SSLC exams held in 2020 were also awarded with Cash prizes. Ms Sherley Gottimukkula, Scored the Highest marks followed by Ms Gundu Jessica, second highest and Master Mohammed Zaid, third highest marks in SSLC exams in 2019-20 were awarded cash awards.
Smt Rekha Kaushal Secretary / SWRWWO presented a report on the various welfare activities taken over by the organization. A colorful cultural programme displayed by the children of the school and Bharth Scouts and Guides was organized at the conclusion of the function. Smt Anita Premnarayan anchored the function & Smt Anita Shastri proposed the Vote of Thanks.
