दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे/ SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager of South Western Railway inaugurated the ‘Swami Vivekananda Adventure Park’ at Vinoba Nagar Railway colony, Gadag Road, Hubballi today.  Various adventure activities  like Suspension Gate Bridge, watching tower, rope net climbing, Zigzag logger, Swings, rope ladder, climbing wall, tree house, Monkey bridge,  Self trolley, tyre obstacles, tunnels etc. have been installed in the park. This park has been developed with in-house by Hubballi Division and Workshop using released rails, stone benches etc.  The idea of Adventure park was conceptualized by ShriJogendraYadvendu, Additonal Divisional Railway Manager of Hubballi Division and entire work has been executed by the team of Bharat Scouts & Guides under his   guidance.

The adventure sports help in maintaining physical fitness and mental ability, inculcate firm determination, boosts self-confidence, courage etc.

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh congratulated the  team of Hubballi Division for creating such a novel park in Hubballi, in short span of  time.He said that  sound mind lies in sound body and for overall health, as Swami Vivekananda said "we need muscles of iron and nerves of steel". He opined that this will be a welcome addition to Hubballi's must see places and will gain popularity.

            Shri Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager of Hubballi  said that during o­neday while doing   Shramdan in this area, GM/SWR advised to develop this area in a innovative way by value addition. 

Shri P.K. Mishra, Additional General Manager; ShriVipul Kumar, Principal Chief Engineer; Shri P. Ravikumar, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer;  Shri R.S. Chauhan, Principal Chief Security Commissioner; Smt. Sujata Singh, President of SWRWWO and others were present.  o­n the occasion a demonstration of these adventure sports were performed by the team of RPF, Bharat Scouts and Guides under the guidance of ShriJogendraYadavendu, ADRM.  



The South Western Railway Annual Sports & Cultural Meet is being held from 5th February to 7th February under the aegis of South Western Railway Sports Association.  Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR today launched the sports event by declaring  the tournament  open.  He conveyed good wishes to all the participants and motivated them to put a good show in the competitions.  Shri P.K. Mishra, Additional General Manager; Smt. Sujata Singh,  President of SWRWWO; Shri S.S. Katware, President of South Western Railway Sports Association; Shri Ajay Jain,  Hon. General Secretary of SWRSA, Principal Heads of the departments, Divisional Railway Managers of Hubballi, Bengaluru, Mysuru; Chief Workshop Managers of Hubballi &Mysuru and other officers were present.  Various Sports events like Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Billiards, Snooker, Free walk, Tug of war, Golf, Table Tennis, Basketball and Inter unit cultural competition will be held for Officers and their family members at various locations in Hubballi.  Officers from Headquarters, Hubballi Division, Mysuru Division, Bengaluru Division, RVNL, Hubballi &Mysuru Workshop are taking part in these sports & cultural events.  Prize distribution will be held o­n 07th February.
