INAUGURATED ROAD UNDER BRIDGE NEAR
KRISHNA KALYAN MANTAP AND UNVEILES THE
STATUE OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA NEAR SSS
HUBBALLI STATION
Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon'ble Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines inaugurated Road Under Bridge near Krishna Kalyan Mantapa and unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda near Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Railway Station on 27.03.2021.
Welcoming the dignitaries at SSS Hubballi station, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway said that construction of New Road Under Bridge near Shri Krishna Kalyan Mantap underlines commitment of Railways to service of public.
Local public had to travel over nearly 4 Km for crossing of Railway track and had to wait at level crossing gate. This Road Under Bridge was constructed at an approximate cost of Rs. 4 Crore and completed in short period. Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi and the local representatives of the region have been representing and a decision to construct the same was taken, keeping in view the needs of public.
Installation of statue of Swami Vivekananda was requested by Swami Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram, to commemorate Swami Ji's travel by train in this region with a stopover at Dharwad, in 1892, while going from Belagavi to Goa. The visit was significant, as it was just prior to departure to USA for attending World Parliament of religions. The historic address there in 1893 heralded a new dawn in India's cultural history. This 10.5 ft high Bronze statue has been provided at a total cost of Rs. 20 Lakhs. He also briefed about various development works being carried out over South Western Railway.
Shri Jagadish Shettar appreciated SWR for constructing Road Under Bridge at Krishna Kalyan Mantap which was fully funded by the Railways. He also recalled inspiring works of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion.
Shri Pralhad Joshi congratulated the Railways for building Road Under Bridge near Krishna Kalyan Mantap in a very short period and appreciated the General Manager for taking swift decisions in developing infrastructure. He said that Swami Vivekananda was a great monk who shown the greatness of India to the world. Shri Joshi asked the railway officials to introduce a Superfast train service between Hubballi and Bengaluru with travel time of Six hours. He also asked to run DEMU service between Davangere and Hubballi for the benefit of people who move to and fro for the purpose of their work.
On the occasion Shri Pralhad Joshi also inaugurated a book stall of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram at Platform No. 1 at SSS Hubballi station.

Sankanur, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council; Shri Pradeep Shettar, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Council, Swami Jitakamanandaji Maharaj, Swami Tatwaroopanandaji Maharaj, Swami Nirbhayananda Saraswati, Swami Vijayananda Saraswati, Shri Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager; Shri Hari Shankar Verma, Principal Chief Operations Manager; Shri Vipul Kumar, Principal Chief Engineer and others were present.
