STANDARD OPERATING PROTOCOL (SOP) FOR MOVEMENT OF PASSENGERS BY TRAINS
Railway Board issued standard operating protocol (SOP) for movement of passengers by trains may kindly be followed as mentioned below:
1. Booking and cancellation of Tickets:
i. Onboard booking by ticket checking staff of fully waiting list ticket shall not be permitted.
ii. Unreserved tickets (UTS) shall be permitted on limited trains only on which such unreserved journey has been permitted.
2. Catering and Linen on Train:
i. No catering charges shall be included in the fare. Pre-paid catering services in trains shall be disabled. However, Ready to Eat (RTE) meals, packed items, packaged drinking water bottles, tea/coffee/beverages etc shall be made available to passengers in trains on payment basis through pantry cars/train side vending. Information to this effect shall be made available to passengers during time of booking ticket.
ii. In addition, IRCTC shall enable catering services passengers through e- catering facility.
iii. Provision of catering services in trains shall be subject to compliance of all safety and hygiene protocols issued by Government from time to time.
iv. No Line, blankets and curtains shall be provided inside the train.
v. Zonal Railways may advise passengers to carry their own linen for the train. The temperature inside AC coaches shall be suitably regulated for this purpose. For the convenience of the travelling passengers, bedroll kit/items are available for purchase at all multipurpose Stalls.
3. Protocol regarding Entry and movement of passengers:
i. Passengers with Fully Waitlisted tickets shall not be allowed to enter the Railway station.
ii. Zonal Railways to ensure that there are separate entry and exit gates at Railway stations to the extent feasible so that there is no face to face movement of passengers.
iii. Passengers shall be subject to thermal screening at the station. only passengers who are found asymptomatic will be permitted to travel.
iv. Zonal Railways shall advise passengers to carry sanitizers during the journey.
v. It should be advised to all passengers that they shall be wearing face v. covers/masks at the entry and during travel. Any violation shall be dealt with in accordance with various rules/guidelines.
vi. Passengers shall be advised to observe social distancing both during boarding and travel. All passengers to be advised that on arrival at their destinations, the travelling vii, passengers will have to adhere to such health protocols as are prescribed by the destination state/UT.
vii. All passengers to be advised to download and use the Aarogya Setu application.
As per Railway Board direction, thermal screening is being done in major stations of Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hubballi Divisions. only non symptomatic passengers will be permitted to travel. It is mandatory to wear masks, observe all Covid19 norms. All passengers are requested to kindly cooperate and join hands with efforts of Railways in fighting the Covid19 Pandemic.
