THE SECOND AND THIRD OXYGEN EXPRESS REACHED
ICD WHITEFIELD, BENGALURU TODAY
Braving the challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic, Indian Railways is ensuring that essential commodities are transported to various corners of the country. The dedicated staff of Indian Railways have enabled efficient and swift transport of essentials goods including medical oxygen during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Second Oxygen Express has reached ICD Whitefield at 03.20 am today (15.05.2021). It had started from Kalinganagar, Jajapur Distt, Odisha on 14.05.2021 at 03.10 am.
The Third Oxygen Express to Karnataka was loaded from Tatanagar, Jharkhand has also reached ICD Whitefield at 05.10 pm today (15.05.2021). It had started its journey from Tatanagar at 12:40 pm on 14.05.2021.
A signal free 'Green Corridor' was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of this Oxygen Express, i.e. this train has run stoppage free, and has not had to wait for crossing/passage of another train.
Each train has carried 6 Cryogenic Containers and each cryogenic container carried 20 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen (Total tonnage: 120 Tonnes).Total tonnage of Oxygen from both the trains is 240 Tonnes. So far, Karnataka has received 360 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen by rail. Indian Railways has so far transported more than 8700 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen all over the country in the last 20 days to assist state governments in their fight against Covid19.
