THE FIFTH OXYGEN EXPRESS REACHED ICD WHITEFIELD, BENGALURU TODAY
The Fifth Oxygen Express has reached ICD Whitefield at 01:55 am today (20.05.2021). It had started from Tatanagar, Jharkhand on 18.05.2021.
A signal free 'Green Corridor' was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of this Oxygen Express, i.e. this train has run stoppage free, and has not had to wait for crossing/passage of another train.
The train was taken over at Jolarpettai by crew of Bengaluru Division and run with the speed of 100 kmph on the route. Crew change was done within 5 minutes at Jolarpettai.
The train has carried 8 Cryogenic Containers and each cryogenic container carried 20 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen (Total tonnage: 160 Tonnes).
So far, Karnataka has received 640 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen by Rail. Indian Railways has so far run 196 Oxygen Expresses and transported nearly 11,800 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen all over the country to assist state governments in their fight against Covid -19.
