THE 11TH AND 12TH OXYGEN EXPRESS REACHED ICD WHITEFIELD, BENGALURU TODAY
Despite the challenges posed by Cyclone Yaas during Covid -19 pandemic, Indian Railways have been ensuring timely loading and transport of Liquid Medical Oxygen.
The 11th Oxygen Express has reached ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru at 06:10 am today (25.05.2021). It had started from Rourkela, Odisha at 09:30 pm on 23.05.2021. This train has carried 124.19 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen in six Cryogenic Containers.
The 12th Oxygen Express has reached ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru at 09:49 am today (25.05.2021). It had started from Kanalus, Jamnagar, and Gujarat at 04:30 am on 24.05.2021. This train has carried 114.31 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen in six Cryogenic Containers.
A signal free 'Green Corridor' was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of these Oxygen Expresses, i.e. these trains has run stoppage free, and has not had to wait for crossing/passage of another train.
So far, Karnataka has received 1420.64 Tonnesof Liquid Medical Oxygen by Rail. Indian Railways has so far run more than 247 Oxygen Expresses and transported more than 16000 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to all over the country to assist state governments in their fight against Covid -19.
