Endeavour by Business Development Unit of Bengaluru Division despite the Pandemic
Despite the challenges posed by the raging Covid - 19 pandemic, South Western Railway’s Bengaluru Division's Business Development Unit has been successful through persistent efforts with the logistics partner in the transport 400 Kia vehicles from Penukonda to Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, Haryana, over a distance of 2209 kms.
The Division has loaded four rakes so far in May 2021. Each rake can carry 100 cars/vehicles in 25 wagons. The NMG type of wagons are used for transport of cars. The Division is hopeful of transporting one more rake by the end of the Month consisting of two wheelers, tillers, tractors. Each rake has fetched a revenue of Rs. 19 Lakhs to the Railways.
IVC Logistics is the logistics partner of Bengaluru Division in this endeavour. Railways is emerging as the preferred mode of transport of vehicles due to safety, swift transport and smooth handling of the consignment.
