"Dear Members of Team SWR,
All of you are the pride of IR and are doing a great job 24×7×365 in the difficult and trying times of Covid Pandemic, Cyclones and other calamities.
Three cheers to Team IR for being in the service of the nation at all times.
We are highly concerned with the safety of our staff.
On SWR, till date 23293 staff out of the total strength of 37116 ie 62.75 percent have been vaccinated.
Government of Karnataka has also categorized Railway staff as front-line staff for priority vaccination.
Among the front-line staff,
Out of 1221 Station Masters, 1016 in 83.21 percent have been vaccinated. Of the 339 SMs above 45 yrs in age 309 SMs is 91.15 percent have been vaccinated and for the age group 18 to 44yrs 707 out of 882 in 80.15 percent have been vaccinated.
88.7 % of total crew have also been vaccinated and 93.7 % of crew above 45 years have been already vaccinated.
Vaccination of health workers and security personnel has also been completed.
We request all those who are yet to be vaccinated come forward to take the vaccine.
We want to complete the vaccination for 100% of our staff expeditiously by any of the following means:
1. Getting vaccines to the extent possible from State Government for those above 45 who are yet to take the first or second dosage and also for those between 18 and 44.
2. Arrange vaccination at our premises by organizing Camps conducted by Corporate Hospitals who are recognized for vaccination.
3. Getting vaccination from the manufacturers and vaccination done by our medical team at SWR Hospitals and health units. (However, this depends on the willingness of manufacturers to respond to our tender inquiries for supplying vaccine).
4. Allowing our employees to get vaccinated at authorized centres as per their convenience and reimbursing the cost of vaccination.
It is hoped that with these measures the entire exercise can be done early. Meanwhile we encourage and request cooperation from all employees to follow Covid SOPs at workplaces and in their personal lives as well.
May the Almighty shower his blessings on all of us to go through the pandemic times smoothly. Together we can make it happen"
The General Manager concluded his message with a wish of good health to the employees and their families.
