SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY CELEBRATES 37THRAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE RAISING DAY
Railway Protection Force, South Western Railway has organised a colourful paradeontheoccasionof 37th Railway Protection Force Raising Day today (21.09.2021). Railway Protection Force has evolved as Armed Force of the Union on 20th September 1985. on this occasion, a grand parade was organised at Willies Ground, Hubballi which was graced by Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, South Western Railway as Chief guest. Shri Vijay Kumar Katarkar, Chief Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force in his address has highlighted the achievements of Railway Protection Force in detection of Railway property offences, maintenance of law and order in Railway premises, rescue of run away, abandoned children, seizure of narcotics and contraband items and co-operation extended to Government Railway Police and Local Police in the detection of cases against passenger belongings.
Four platoons of Railway Protection Force including one platoon of women staff and dog squad taken part in the parade. ‘Harsh fire’ by the Railway Protection Force platoons, dog show and exhibition of weaponry were the highlights of the parade.
Addressing the gathering, General Manager, Shri Sanjeev Kishore has conveyed his best wishes on the occasion and congratulated the effort of Railway Protection Force in providing security to the Railway property and passengers. Shri Kishore has directed the Force personnel to re-dedicate themselves in their duties and provide better protection and security to the travelling public and Railway properties. General Manager has given away awards to meritorious Railway Protection Force staff and scholarships to the wards of Railway Protection Force personnel.
All the Principle Head of the Departments and senior officers of South Western Railway, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubballi and Railway Protection Force officials and their wards attended the function.
