VIGILANCE DEPARTMENT ORGANISES OUTREACH PROGRAMME IN RESIDENTIAL COLONY OF STAFF MEMBERS

            Shri Milind Deouskar stated that corruption breaks the nation, and to stay away from corruption is the ideal tribute to Sardar Patel o­n his Birth Anniversary.

            The idea behind this outreach - o­ne of the firsts in all over Indian Railways - is to involve the family members in the effort towards a corruption-free society and also imbibe a strong value system in children.

Hubballi: Today, Vigilance Department of South Western Railway organised an outreach programme in ‘New Vidyaranya Nagar’ Railway Colony, Hubballi. Shri Milind Deuskar Chief Vigilance Officer and Senior Deputy General Manager of SWR spoke o­n the occasion and said that we should strive to follow the ideals of Sardar Patel. He stated that corruption breaks the nation, and to stay away from corruption is the ideal tribute to Sardar Patel o­n his Birth Anniversary. He said that the ‘means’ are also as important as the ‘end’. Apart from monetary corruption there are other forms of corruption which should be avoided. A railway staff should work with highest ideals and integrity because they have the responsibility of ensuring safe travel of thousands of passengers every day.

Shri Jogendra Yadvendu, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Hubballi Division also spoke o­n the occasion and said that we all wish to see an ideal society. In this regard, we should introspect, and endeavour to keep our conscience clean, by not indulging in any form of corruption. Any form of corruption diminishes our own self, he said.

The idea behind organising this outreach programme, in the residential locality of railway staff was to involve the family members in the effort towards a corruption-free society and also involve children, who are the citizens of tomorrow- that they imbibe value of integrity.

The session also featured a street play o­n the ills of corruption by Bharat Scouts and Guides, SWR and a demonstration session o­n safety, by Civil Defense Organisation, SWR.

Shri Anweshkumar A, Deputy CVO welcomed the gathering, Shri Tirumala Reddy and Shri K Narahari, Chief Vigilance Inspectors conducted a sensitisation session o­n Vigilance Awareness.
