RPF SEIZES STOLEN RAILWAY MATERIALS AND CULPRITS APPREHENDED
on 15.04.2022, miscreants had broke open main door of the north Goomty Relay Room at Amaravathi Colony station at around 8.30 PM and essential S&T materials consisting of 33 Nos. of Relays, 04 Nos. of CCTV Cameras, one switch board and 02 Nos.of Navtal locks worth Rs.265880/-.were stolen which affected the route relay interlocking system panel. Immediately, Sub Inspector RPF/Davangere along with RPF and S&T staff visited the spot. And after preliminary investigation and due verification registered a case under section 3(a) of Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act vide against unknown offenders. Subsequently a special team was formed and the CCTV Footage of the Goomty was obtained and enquiry was started.
on 17.04.2022 based on the credible information while on confidential watch, team of RPF Davangere apprehended 02 outsiders riding a two wheeler in Goods shed area at 05.30 PM, with stolen Railway materials. After due enquiry they were arrested, their two wheeler was also seized along with 15 Nos.of Relays from their possession. They were identified as Rehan aged 22 years, S/o Abdul Kareem, (Accused 1) and Mohammad Altaf aged 19 years, S/o Jamal Sab, (Accused 2), residents of Davangere.
They confessed to have committed the offence on 15.04.2022. Further they admitted that on 18.04.2022, they sold 18 Nos. of Relay boxes, 04 Nos. of CCTV Cameras, one Switch modem and 02 number of Navtal locks to a scrap dealer at Davangere, for Rs.1400/-. RPF team conducted a search at scrap shop situated near Betur link road, Mandakkibatti, Double road, Davangere. The owner of the shop identified them and voluntarily produced the sold articles and also agreed that he paid Rs.1400/- on 15.04.2022 to them.
After due formalities, the items were seized from his possession and the owner by name Mubarakh, aged 26 years S/o Bakshi Sab, also a resident of Davangere was arrested on18.04.2022 and cited as Accused 3 of this case.
All the three accused in this case were produced before Hon’ble JMFC/Harihar on 18.04.2022 & have been sent to judicial custody.
