WORLD MALARIA DAY OBSERVED AT DIESEL SHED HUBBALLI
World Malaria Day was observed at Diesel Shed Hubballi on 25-04-2022. Awareness programme was addressed by Dr. Manjunath Nekar, Associate Professor Community Medicine, KIMS Hubballi, Dr. Usharani B. Chief Medical Superintendent-Hubballi, and Dr. Ramakrishna Mane Additional Chief Medical Superintendent-Hubballi. 70 Railway employees including senior supervisors and Health Inspectors attended the event.
The day was also observed in Health Units of Hubballi Division with good participation from among railway employees and beneficiaries.
Every year, 25thApril is observed as ‘World Malaria Day’. This year’s theme is “Harness innovation to reduce the global malaria disease burden and save lives.”
Dr. Manjunath Nekar said that Malaria is a preventable and curable disease with early detection with prompt and complete treatment. He also stated that all personal and community measures have to be adapted to prevent spread of disease from mosquitoes.
