CELEBRATION OF SILVER JUBILEE OF DIESEL LOCO SHED, HUBBALLI
General Manager Shri Sanjeev Kishore inaugurated the new state of the art Chemical & Metallurgical Laboratory and Flagged off WDP4B-40057 Locomotive on the occasion of silver jubilee celebrations (25th Year) of Diesel Loco Shed, Hubballi on 1st May 2023.
The Diesel Loco Shed of Hubballi began to function on 15th April 1998. Speaking on the occasion, General Manager Shri Sanjeev Kishore congratulated all the officers and staff who have been instrumental in taking the Diesel Shed to new heights with their dedication and efforts. He addressed Diesel Loco Shed as a ‘Temple of Technology’ and exhorted all the officers and staff of the shed to continue their innovations. Shri Kishore also congratulated Shri U Subbarao, Addtl General Manager, SWR and Shri RVN Sarma, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer, SWR who were then, among the first set of officers who established the shed in late 1990s.
Divisional Railway Manager Shri Harsh Khare stated that the shed was the most important component in the division. The Diesel Shed, Hubballi was able to consistently maintain a high outage (timely repair/scheduled maintenance) of locomotives there by enabling the division to run all the freight trains as per planning and meet all the cargo loading targets.
Shri Jaipal Singh, Principle Chief Electrical Engineer, SWR extended his best wishes on the occasion. He said that as the diesel shed undergoes a transition to maintain electrical locomotives, as more and more territory of railways gets electrified, the staff of the shed will get full support.
The General Manager felicitated the staff of the shed who had rendered longest service. on the occasion the General Manager Flagged off WDP4B-40057 Locomotive which had been painted with a unique livery titled ‘Namma Karunadu’ based on the theme of Karnataka.
Shri U Subbarao, Addtl General Manager, SWR, Principal Heads of Depts, senior officers from Hubballi Division and HQ were present.
