GENERAL MANAGER FELICITATES EMPLOYEES FOR ALERTNESS, PRESENCE OF MIND IN AVERTING UNSAFE INCIDENTS

Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, South Western Railway felicitated to the employees of various departments with Safety Man of the Month awardwho have distinguished themselves in their duty and shows alertness and timely prompt action. Details of the awardees are as follows: -

1. Shri Mukesh Kumar and Akash Chikete Khushab

On 29.05.2023, Shri. Mukesh Kumar, Gangmate of gang No.09 between Ramagiri  - Holalkere has noticed a hanging part in Goods Train No. SAMT/EDN and informed to the Sr. Section Engineer, P.Way, Shivani. Shri. Akash Chikate Khushab, Station Master, Ramgiri has noticed the hanging part in wagon No. ECR 31102219984, which was the 7th wagon from Brake Van and stopped the train at Ramagiri station and informed to Carriage & Wagon staff/Arsikere for taking further action.

2. Shri Ravi E. Naidu

On 27.04.2023, Shri. Ravi E. Naidu, Sr. Clerk, Sr. Divisional Operation Manager/Office/Bengaluru while traveling by Train. No.16315 while passing Bangarapet experienced unusual sound in coach No. S9 (16621). Immediately he informed punctuality controller & Divisional Operation Manager, Goods/Bengaluru. The train was stopped at Bisnattam station and o­n checking by TMR found Bio toilet tank safety strap cut and hanging & touching platform. The message was conveyed for Carriage & Wagon staff’s attention.

3. Shri Khadar Nawaz Khan

Mr. Khader Nawaz Khan is working as Junior Engineer in Carriage & Wagon Department, Sir. M. Visveswaraya Terminal, Bengaluru. o­n May 30, during the safety inspection/repair of the train, a technical problem was noticed in the primary string breakage axle. There is a possibility that the carriages may become separated during the further train movement.

4. Shri Prabhat Kumar Mandal

On 30.05.2023, Shri. Prabhat Kumar Mondal was o­n duty as a Gateman at Level Crossing No.26 between Cansaulim Sankval noticed Hot Axle in 5thwagon from Train Engine at 01.10 Hrs. He immediately informed to Station Master, Cansaulim to stop the train for further necessary action. Further, the wagon was detached.

5. Shri Khadar Nawaz Khan & Shri. Jeethrendra Kumar

On 30.05.2023, Shri Khadar Nawaz Khan, Junior Engineer & Shri. Jeethrendra Kumar, Technician Carriage & Wagon, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal during platform turn around attention noticed difference in temperature in L3 and R6 axle by 25oC in coach No.SE LWCBAC 192967 of Train No.12863 Howrah – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Express. The coach was detached & checked in Road No.7 and noticed that there was grease oozing in L3 axle of the said coach.

Additional General Manager, Shri U Subbarao, Principal Chief Safety Officer Shri A. P. Sharma and other Principal Head of departments were present.
