SWR REGISTERS EXCELLENT GROWTH IN EARNINGS
·Gross Revenue (Apportioned) of SWR is Rs. 4288.27 crore during April to October 2023 which is 10.44% more than the corresponding period of last year.
·Originating Passenger revenue of SWR is Rs. 1801.68 crore during April to October 2023 which is 15.20% more than the corresponding period of last year.
South Western Railway has registered excellent growth in earnings. The Zone has earned a Gross Revenue (Apportioned) of Rs. 4288.27 crore with an increase of 10.44% during April to October 2023 as compared to Rs. 3882.93 crore of corresponding period of last year.
Originating Passenger revenue of SWR is Rs. 1801.68 crore with an increase of 15.20% during April to October 2023 as compared to Rs. 1563.97 crore of the corresponding period of last year.
SWR has earned an originating freight revenue of Rs. 2741.40 crore with an increase of 11.66% by loading of 27.49 MT of freight during April to October 2023 as compared to Rs. 2455.14 crore of the corresponding period of last year.
The growth in freight has been possible due to extensive marketing initiatives by the Business Development Units of Divisions, immense effort put in by Operations and Maintenance staff in enabling timely supply of wagons by enhancing asset reliability. The doubling and electrification of SWR routes have also contributed to reduced transit time of goods trains, enhanced mobility and reliability.
