COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE BY TICKET CHECKING STAFF OF SWR DURING THIS FINANCIAL YEAR UP TO DECEMBER

·SWR booked 627014 cases of ticketless travelling and collected the fine of Rs. 46.31 Crores during this financial year up to December 2023.

·    Bengaluru Division of SWR booked 368205 cases and collected Rs. 28.26 Crores Fine

Ticket Checking Staff of South Western Railway have done commendable work during this financial year i.e. from 1st April to 31st December 2023. Special Ticket Checking drives have been conducted regularly to ensure comfortable travel and better services to all authorized rail users in Mail/Express, passenger train services including special trains to curb ticketless and irregular travel.

SWR has booked 627014 cases of ticketless travelling in this financial year up to December and collected the fine of Rs. 46.31 Crores which is 9.95 % more than the corresponding period of last year and highest ever since the inception of SWR.

In the month of December 2023, 72041 cases were booked and Rs. 5.13 Crores fine collected in South Western Railway.

As per Railway Act,1989 Section 138 if any passenger is found travelling without proper pass/ticket, a penalty of ₹ 250 or equivalent to fare (ordinary single fare for the distance which he has travelled or from the station from which the train started and the excess charges i.e. ₹ 250) whichever is more will be imposed.
