SWR STAFF TRAINED on PROTECTION OF RUN-AWAY/ABANDONED CHILDREN IN RAILWAY PREMISES
Dharwad Jun 30: South Western Railway conducted training for front-line staff viz. Station Masters, Ticket Checking Staff in creating awareness on protecting of abandoned/run-away children who are coming in contact with Railway. This initiative is the first of its kind SWR and has been organized by Multi Disciplinary Zonal Training Institute, Dharwad in compliance with directives of Railway Board and Ministry of Women and Child Development. Multi Disciplinary Zonal Training Institute, Dharwad is the nodal training centre for frontline staff of South Western Railway. Railway staff was made aware to put their best endeavour to save such children and send them for rehabilitation. An NGO ‘Childline India Foundation’ Chennai, is the nodal agency for training the Railway Staff in Southern India. Shri Deepak Dineshan, Senior Programme Coordinator and Shri Sampat Katti of Childline India Foundation conducted the training Programme in which 168 Railway Staff participated the virtual mode on 29.06.2021. This foundation has also set Child-help desk at Bengaluru, Yesvantpur, SSS Hubballi, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Wadi Railway Stations in Karnataka Circle.
