Electrical Department (General Services) is headed by Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, who is assisted with Divisional Electrical Engineer and Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineers.Duties of Electrical Department are as follows:

vPower supply arrangements at all stations of Bangalore Division.

vElectrical coaching maintenance of all the trains originating from Bangalore, Yeswanthpur & Baiyappanahalli.

·Primary maintenance of 578 Air conditioned coaches and 1074 non-AC coaches.

·Secondary maintenance of 197 Air conditioned coaches and 463 non-AC coaches

·Platform turn out trains of 124 Air conditioned and 521 Train lighting coaches are being handled.

·Pass through trains of 218 Air conditioned coaches and 1187 Train lighting coaches are being handled.

vDivisional Electrical Inspectorate discharging the delegated powers of the Chief Electrical Inspectorate of South Western Railway.

vAll power line crossing in Bangalore Division is dealt in this office.

 vAll temporary power connection in Railway premises of the division, approval of this office 
      has to be obtained.
