The mission statement of Multi Disciplinary Divisional Training Institute,Hubballi is as follows

“To Develop the Knowledge and Skills of Running Staff and Maintenance Staff and to Effect Attitudinal Change by Systematic Training so as to Achieve Excellence in Work and bring about Continual Improvement in the Performance of the Indian Railway and to build a strong nation.”
In order to fulfil above mission, Multi Disciplinary Divisional Training Institute,Hubballi has the following objectives to achieve.
a) To Impart Qualitative and Effective Theoretical and Field Training to the Newly Recruited and Promoted Supervisors, Technicians and Running Staff to Develop their Professional Competency.
b)To Refresh and Update the Technical Knowledge of the Diesel Loco Shed Supervisors in the area of Latest Maintenance Practices to Provide SafeLoco Services to the Fullest Satisfaction of Our Esteemed Customers
c) To Refresh and Update the Technical Knowledge & Skills of Loco Running Staff to Provide Safe and Punctual Train Services.
d) To Design and Deliver Need-Based Training to Maintenance Staff and Running Staff to Improve their Technical and operational Skills in keeping with changing trends.
e)To Mould Running staff in effective Leaders to Achieve Organisational Goals.
