Government Railway Police (GRP) and Jurisdiction over Bangalore Railway Division
Bangalore division of South Western Railway has a Police jurisdiction of three states namely Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The state police on Railways are called as Government Railway Police (GRP).

GRP units are a state maintained forces with it's own command structure on Railways with the maintenance cost borne on 50% basis each by particular State and Railways.

RPF maintains liaison with GRP for the Law & Order and Crime related matters.
