Phase I : Hospet and Tinaighat (245 km)
Ø This phase of doubling (including Hubballi bye pass) is partially funded by Asian Development Bank. About 44.15 km patch doubling in the section has been done earlier and balance 200.85 km plus 9.22 km bye pass is to be done by RVNL. The time of completion of Phase I is estimated as Dec’ 2018.
ØCost of this phase is Rs.928.85 cr. (58.9% is funded by Asian Development Bank).
ØThis phase of project is divided in 3 sections, viz.
Hosapete-Harlapur (69.22 km), Harlapur-Dharwad (75.12 km), Kambarganvi-Tinaighat (58.38 km). About 108 km. track linking and engine rolling has been done till February 2016. 90 Kms engine rolling is targeted to be completed in the current financial year.
Four block sections (28 Kms) are planned to be commissioned in the current financial year as below:
ØCRS inspection for the section between Haralapur-Sompur-Bannikoppa (16.48 km) was done on 29.09.2015 and section was commissioned on 09.01.2016.CRS inspection of Kasanahatti, Kambarganvi & Alnawar completed on 2/3/2016 and authorization received on 3/3/2016.
Target and progress of works during 2016-17:-
1. CRS inspection of Kambarganvi and Alnavar section (11.5 km) completed on 02.03.2016 and authorization received on 03.03.2016 and commissioned on 30.04.2016.
2. Commissioning is planned for Bannikoppa-Bhanapur-Koppal (22.75 km) – CRS inspection completed between Bannikoppa-Bhanapur on 18.11.16 and section commissioned on 25.12.2016.
3. Commissioning is planned for Shivathan-Londa-Tinaighat (16.43 km) – CRS inspection completed on 27.03.2017.
Phase II : Tinaighat – Vasco-da-gama (98 km)
This stretch of doubling lies in two states, viz.
Goa 79 km (approx.)
Karnataka 19 km (approx.)
The estimated cost of this phase is Rs.1198 Cr as per Preliminary engineering survey.
