ROLE OF RPF
The railway Protection Force in South Western Railway has clear rules to perform towards Railway property and passengers.
To provide protection and to safeguard Railway property, passengers and passenger area.
To remove any obstruction in the movement of Railway property or in passenger area
To do any act which is conducive to providing of better protection and security to Railway property, passenger area and passengers.
Basing on the above founding principles, the RPF has clear role in providing security to Railway properties, passengers and passenger area.
ROLE OF GOVERNMENT RAILWAY POLICE
The Government Railway Police look after Law & order problem on Railways in Karnataka. Their jurisdiction covers the Railway track areas and station buildings, investigation of property offences and body offences of passengers in trains and Railway premises is vested with them. They also provide security in trains and Railway premises to passengers and passengers’ luggage.
