MCDO for the Month of April-2024-reg


1.Sustained drives against touting activities in SWR: - During monthly review, special teams that are constituted to workout illegal selling of e-tickets and usage of illegal software by analysis of PRABAL Data/Surveillance etc conducted raids at different travel agencies/agents engaged in touting activities over Karnataka & Goa and detected 23 cases with arrest of 24 touts U/S 143 of Railways Act and seized 94 No’s of live railway reserved tickets valued 2,88,515.6/-, 751 No’s of used tickets valued  10,79,371.71/-.

2.Patrolling by mobile teams (wherever deployed) in vestibule trains: - On an average 40 to 45 important/vulnerable Spl/Mail/Express trains are escorted by 96 to 105 RPF personnel including women constables over SWR. RPF personnel deployed for escorts are patrolling in trains and interacting with passengers.  Besides, keep watch on passengers carrying hazardous articles. 

·Meri Saheli: - To ensure maximum safety and security of women passengers on trains, Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched the pilot project ‘Operation Meri Saheli’ in the month of November-2020. The RPF team collects the seat numbers of the lonely female passengers and further shares same with RPF personnel at corresponding stations. At destination, feedback from the identified passengers is collected for corrective response. Meri Saheli members also help women passengers in availing auto rickshaw, bus services and carrying belongings of elderly. 28 No of trains have been identified vulnerable with total 10 teams functioning over SWR (SBC-03, MYS-01 and UBL-06) consisting 79 RPF personnel deputed (SBC-25, MYS-14 and UBL-40). During the month of April-2024, 995 trains have been attended over SWR (SBC-578, MYS-215 and UBL-202) and duly interacted with 26,967 lonely lady passengers.

5. Initiative action by RPF:-   

·    Yatri Suraksha(TOPB):- Under this operation 02 cases of ToPB detected by RPF


1.  On 16.04.2024 at about 17.00hrs one Dr.Darshan.M.S, aged 39 years, lodged a complaint with RPSI/YPR stating that, while he along with his wife and mother-in-law travelling in Tr.No.16021 ex.MAS-MYS Kaveri express, noticed missing of hand bags of his wife and mother-in-law containing gold ornaments weighing 106 grams total worth Rs. 4,77,000/- and 03 mobile phones after passing of said  train from YPR station on the same day.  Further, the complainant also stated in the complaint that, a unknown person has returned the 03 mobile phones after demanding and receiving Rs.3000/- through google pay on his mobile number 6361436104.  In this connection RPSI/YPR registered a case in his station Cr.No.29/2024 u/s.379 IPC and took up investigation. On 19.04.2024, GRP staff and Sri.H.K.Doddaiah, SIPF/MYA @ CPDS with staff of CPDS after analyzing the CDR and Tower Location of Mobile arrested a person and recovered entire gold ornaments weighing 106 grams, total worth Rs. 4,77,000/- .

2.  On 19.04.2024, joint of GRP and RPF Sri C.T.Dasi/ASI/HAS along with staff apprehended a  person at Hassan (HAS) Railway station yard. Who was a suspected accused in case of hitting a person by name Arun kumar  (out sider)  aged 40 years by iron rod & robbery of his Gold chain valued Rs 40,000/- on 03.04.2024 and  registered by GRP/HAS vide Cr. no. 11/2024, U/sec 397 of IPC dtd 04.04.2024.


                                                                          


·Rail Surksha:- Under this operation 03 cases of RP(UP) detected details are as below :-


1.On 05.04.2024, Shri N. Premanth, Shri K M Shekar, and staff of CIB team on confidential watch and detained one rag pickers person with one polythene bag containing cutting plier at  KM No 0/600 to 1/100 in section between SBC-MWM Railway station, He was cited as A-1 who involving theft of railway amenity fittings from new Location box valued Rs.35000/- and as led by him arrested the receiver of  shop owner by name Sadiq Pasha and connected to SBC Post vide localized No. SBC/L-1/RM-1/S&T-1/2024 dt; 16.01.2024, SBC Post vide Cr. No. 01/2024 U/Sec 3 (a) of RP [UP] Act 1966. same day  both accused persons A-1 & A-2 produced before the Hon’ble SEO/Court/SBC, where the  Hon’ble Magistrate remanded accused person A1 to JC till 19.04.2024 and A2 released on bail with cash surety Rs.3000/-. 

2.On 06.04.2024, Shri Dasari Kumar SI/RPF/HPT along with staff detected a theft case with the arrest of 04 out siders and 01 receiver and recovered entire case property i.e. 07 No s of Rail pieces in various sizes valued Rs. 30888/, In this connection, a case has been registered at RPF/HPT-OP vide BAY Post Circle Crime No 01/2024 U/Sec 3(a) RP (UP) Act dtd.06.04.2024 against 05 persons and cited them as A-1 to A-5. 

3.On 15.04.2024, RPF/Baiyyapanahalli (BYPL) detected and arrested  A1 by name Ramesh Dhami with the recovery of 19 no’s of 06 volt batteries valued Rs.70680/- at coach stabled on the track near to MEMU SHED/BYPL  and receiver A2-by name Murugan with the recovery of 04 nos of copper wire each measuring about 15.5 mts length, approx. total length 62 mts and about 7.5 kg weight valued Rs.10842/- at shop Sri Murugan scrap shop, near muneshwara temple, Ramaswamy palya, maruthi sevanagar, Bangalore,  both were brought to RPF/BYPL-P and produced before Hon'ble SEO/Court/SBC in connection with BYPL-Post Crime. Cr. No. 06/23 & Cr. No. 02/24 U/Sec 3(a) RP (UP) Act-1966.

                                                   

     

·  Operation AMANAT :-  Recovery of Passengers' belongings by RPF there by safe guarding passengers' belonging from reaching criminal elements:  on 37 junctures (includes a recovery made by RPF Escort staff), RPF personnel recovered leftover items of passengers valued   10,61,990/- (approx.) and restored to genuine passengers.

·Operation Nanhe Farishte:- (Rescue of children from Railway premises/trains): During the month, 22 runaway children i.e. 04 girls and 18 boys were rescued by RPF and handed over to Parents /relatives through NGO and Police.

 a.During the month under review, a total of 2602 cases under the provisions of Railways  Acts are registered with arrest of 2574 accused persons.

d.Operation SATARK (Recovery of Customs/Narcotics/Contraband goods/articles):-

 

·Liquor Items: RPF while performing train escort, picketing and platform duties on 42 occasions secured 961 different types of liquor bottles valued 8,34,776/- and handed over to concerned agencies.
