MCDO for the Month of February-2023

1.

1.Sustained drives against touting activities in SWR:- During the month under review, Special teams were constituted to workout illegal selling of e-tickets and illegal software by analysis of PRABAL Data/Surveillance etc. Special teams conducted raids at different Travel Agencies/Agents all over Karnataka and Goa, who were engaged in touting activities and detected 04 cases with arrest of 04 touts under Section 143 of Railways Act and seized 02 No’s of live reserved tickets valued ₹ 2,000/-,  281 No's of used tickets  valued  ₹ 4,81,003/-.

 

Patrolling by mobile teams (wherever deployed) every hour in vestibule trains:- On an average 30 to 35 important/vulnerable Spl/Mail/Exp. trains are escorted by 120 to 125  RPF personnel over SWR. RPF personnel deployed for escorts are patrolling in trains and interacting with passengers.  Besides, the teams keep watch on passengers carrying safety hazardous articles. During the month, i.) On 09 occasions, train escort staff secured and restored passenger belongings including 03 mobile phones and a laptop and ₹ 500/- cash, ii.) Rescued an unknown male person aged about 45 years, who made attempt to commit suicide.

 

2.Meri Saheli:- To ensure maximum safety and security of women passengers on trains, Railways Protection Force (RPF) collects the seat/berth numbers of the single/alone female passengers and shares them with RPF personnel deployed at corresponding stations for their security & safety in en-route.  At the destination, a feedback from the identified passengers is collected for corrective response.  Meri Saheli members also help women passengers in availing auto rickshaws, bus services and carrying belongings of elderly and needy passengers. In SWR, presently this operation has been implemented in 28 identified trains and ensures covid protocols are being followed by passengers in a polite manner.

·Initiative action by RPF:- 06

1.Operation SAMRAKSHA:- On 06.02.2023, Shri. Madivalappa, Con 345/DWR (Dharwad) during picketing duty at Navalur (NVU) Railway station observed smoke from wagon of coal loaded Goods train . Immediately with the help of SM/NVU called fire brigade and extinguished the fire.With timely action of staff, averted the major incident of fire and loss of Railway.

 

2.Operation SAMRAKSHA On 12.02.23 at about 14.05 hrs received message from Dy Punctuality regarding SM/KRKP has informed that bushes got fire road No.05 near LSS, at KM.No.495/100-200, at KRKP Railway Station. In this regarding on duty staff Sri, Nagaraj M Garag, & CON/027/DWR visited the spot & amp; caused enquiry with on duty Keyman by Name Ashok he revealed that, At about 13:00 hrs, informed to SM/KRKP about bushes got fire at RS of Road.5, near Point No.63/B at Mugad station end, KM.No.495/100-200. Immediately SM/KRKP has informed to fire emergency. On arrival of fire dept at 13:45 hrs, spilled the water on bushes and vanished the fire duly stop the speeding without any loss or damage of the Railway property. Further said staff observed surrounding area to find the reason to fire caught, but didn’t noticed any one at the spot because of remote area please.

 

3.Operation SAMRAKSHA On 24.02.2023, Shri. Shine scaria, ASI/MYS (Mysuru) along with Shri. V. Narayanappa, ASI/MYS and staff noticed the fire in dry grass at PF no. 01 of Mysuru (MYS) Railway Station towards Ahok puram (AP) end.Immediately collected the fire extinguisher from the Station master room and extinguished the fire due to this no damage to Railway property and no any untoward incident was reported.

 

4.Mission Jeevan Raksha:- On 10.02.2023, Train Escort Staff Sri. B.P Chatrapathi, Con-305/RRB( Birur)rescued one unknown male person aged about 45 years, who made attemptto commit suicidein schedule stoppage of Train No. 16227 Ex: MYS-TLGP Express at Birur (RRB) Railway Station. On enquiry, he was in drunken condition and couldn't reveal any of his identity details except that he came from Baramsagar village after pacifying him sent outfrom station.

 

5.Mission Jeevan Raksha:- On 12.02.2023 Shri. Kanwarsingh Gurjar CT/022/RPF/VSG was performing 22.00 to 06.00hrs duty. in his duty time he attended 18048 VSG-SHM Amrawati Exp train at about 06.30 hrs that time one passenger came to platform No. 01 of VSG railway station and trying to get boarded in the running train at that time he was unbalanced, slipped and fell down in the gap of PF and general coach. In this regard above mentioned on duty RPF staff attended and lift the said passenger from the gap of PF and coach. In this connection no any injury to the above said passenger. The train also stopped some time and after that on duty staff helped him to board in the same train for his further journey.

 

6.Rail Prahari:- On 14.02.2023, Shri. Vasheem Ahamad, IPF/SBC-Post (Bengaluru) along with staff traced out one accused Shyju S.L aged 33 years, S/o. Sasi Bhaskaran, R/o. B. S Bhavan, Thudali, Dalmmughom P O,Keezharoor, Thiruvananthapuram,Kerala-695125 at KSR Bengaluru (SBC) Railway station, who was involved in murder case in Pandalam Police Station/Kerala Cr. No. 147/2023 u/s 302 IPC Further, the accused was handed over to Circle Inspector Pandalam police station, Keralafurther legal action.

        

  • Operation Amanat :-Recovery of Passengers' belongings by RPF there by safeguarding passengers' belonging from reaching criminal elements: On 58 occasions, RPF personnel recovered leftover items of passengers valued  ₹ 17,10,520/- (approx) and restored to genuine passengers which includes 07 recoveries made by RPF Escort staff.

·Operation Nanhe Farishte:- (Rescue of children from Railway premises/trains): During the month, 38 runaway children i.e. 04 girls and 34 boys were rescued by RPF and handed over to Parents /relatives through NGO and Police.

 

 

·Action against undesirable elements under Railways Act :

 

(a.) During the month under review, a total of 1181 cases under the provisions of Railways  

Act are registered with arrest of 1155 accused persons.

 (e.)Operation SATARK (Recovery of Customs/Narcotics/Contraband goods/articles):05

 

·Liquor Items: RPF while performing train escort, picketing and platform duties have secured 63 deferent types of liquor bottles, valued ₹ 16,170/- and handed over to concerned agencies.

 

  • NARCOS:- RPF while performing train escort, picketing, dog squad and platform duties, on 03 occasions have secured 31.58 Kgs  Ganja, valued ₹ 5,26,000/- and detained 04 persons and a person has absconded. The seized items and detained persons were handed over to jurisdictional GRP who registered cases under relevant provisions of law.

 

  • SATARK:- On 11.02.2023, Miss. Tanuja N.P, ASIPF/A&DW/SBC(Bengaluru) detained a person by named Jayanth, age 18 years, S/o Raj Nayak, R/o Magadi Road, K.B.Office, Back Side, Bangalore and seized bag containing 03 kg 440 grams illegal Solid Silver Biscuits (06 No`s), valued of Rs. 2,25,000/- (approx.) at KSR Bengaluru (SBC) Railway Station . Further the person and seized solid silver Biscuits were handed over to Dr. Deephti Suresh, Commercial Tax Officer-21, South Zone (Enforcement), Koramangala, Bangalore.
