| Shri. ATUL KUMAR KANKANE has taken over the charge of Principal Chief Engineer, South Western Railway on 12th September 2022. He has done his Graduation and Post Graduation in Civil Engineering from IIT/Roorkee, and MBA from Sikkim Manipal University. As an Officer of 1987 batch of Indian Railway Service Engineering, he had joined Railway service on 6thMarch 1989. Shri.Kankane has worked in Northeast Frontier Railway, Central Railway, West Central Railway, South Central Railway and South Western Railway in various capacities as Assistant Eingineer, Divisional Engineer, Sr.Divisional Engineer, Dy.Chief Engineer, Dy.GM/Secretary to GM, Chief Engineer and Addl. Divl. Railway Manager. He has worked both in Open Line and Construction Organisation. He was working as Chief Project Director/Station Development/S.C.Railway/Secunderabad, before joining as Principal Chief Engineer/SWR/Hubballi. He had made a mark in major system improvements in various fields during his previous postings in different Railways before joining to the post of PCE.Shri. ATUL KUMAR KANKANE is in-charge of entire Civil Engineering Organisation and Civil Engineering infrastructure of South Western Railway consisting of more than 384 Railway stations 3629 Route Kilometres and 5057 track kilometers. |
