BRIEF ACTIVITIES: There are 23 New Lines (including Ginigera - Raichur NL as part of Munirabad - Mahabubnagar NL project of SC Rly, Kolar-Mulbagal NL as part of Cuddapah-Bangalore NL project of SC Rly) and 16 doubling projects (including Londa - Miraj Doubling as part of Pune - Miraj Doubling project of Central Railway) has been sanctioned under pink book 2023-24 of South Western Railway.
Out of the 23 new line projects, 2 projects are completed and commissioned, 11 projects are ongoing, balance projects are held up for want of clearances (CCEA and MoEF) and decisions from Railway board and State Govt. Anticipated total cost of new line projects is Rs. 30,975.3 cr.
Out of the 16 doubling projects, 5 projects are completed and commissioned, 7 ongoing projects and balance projects are held up for want of decisions from the Railway board. Anticipated total cost of doubling projects is Rs. 19003.28 Cr.
