Remarks:-

Section from Kadur to Chikmagalur (46 km) was completed and commissioned on 19.11.2013.

Works between Chikmagalur – Sakleshpur were frozen by Railway Board since 2007 and defreezed during 2013. However, GoK vide G.O. No.IDD 95 NSW 2018 dated 17.01.2019 has advised that the section between Belur - Sakleshpur line stretch in Chikmagalur – Belur - Sakleshpura railway line to be dropped and to take up Belur-Hassan new railway line for which separate sanction from Railway Board dated 01.03.2019 has been received.   

       

Railway Board vide letter dated 07.06.19 conveyed approval to freeze works on Belur-Sakleshpur in view of sanction of Hassan (Alur) - Belur NL project. Accordingly, work is taken up in Chikmagalur - Belur (22 km) section only.

Chikmagalur - Belur (22 km) - Planned to be executed in two phases:

  1. Chikmagalur - Hadihalli (9 km) - Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) Tender awarded on 09.02.2023 for a value of Rs. 121.39 Cr and is targeted to be commissioned by March 2024.

2. Hadihalli - Belur (13 km) - Proposed to be executed through Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) mode of tendering after handing over of 90% of the land by Government of Karnataka.
