a | The details of measures taken by Government for improving sanitation standards at Railway Stations and in Trains. | The steps taken by the South Western Railway Mechanical Department to improve the sanitation services in trains are as under: oMechanized Coach Cleaning during pit line maintenance and on platform turn round trains has been introduced in all coaching depots of SWR. In 5 Depots the activity is out sourced as per Railway Board guidelines to professional agencies and in small depot like BYPL the activity is done departmentally. oOn Board Housekeeping Services (OBHS) on 25 identified trains has been introduced. oClean Train Station (CTS) is introduced for en-route cleaning of pass through trains at HUBLI as per Railway Board’s nomination.
